Michele Placido, a famous italian actor, is the protagonist of one of Goldoni’s most classic texts, capable of describing a multifaceted social and human fresco of eighteenth-century Venice. Eugenio, a young merchant victim of gambling addiction, and his young wife who tries to bring him back on the right path away from the gambling house of the cynical Pandolfo. Even the noble Flaminio squanders his possessions, opposed by his wife Placida, while the dancer Lisaura, unaware of this bond, hopes to change her life next to him.
