Karima: voice
Piero Frassi: piano
Francesco Ponticelli: electric bass and double bass
Andrea Beninati: drums, cello
Jazz is the first love of Karima, refined performer known to the general public also for participating in several television programs such as Amici (where she won the Critics’ Prize), Amici – La Sfida dei Talenti and at the Sanremo Festival 2009, where it ranks third among the New Proposals and at Tale and Quale Show. And, even if in her present there is no lack of very different experiences, such as the musical (with a starring role in “The Bodyguard”), Karima keeps constantly open the door on that world, which she explores with respect and passion: from jazz standards interpreted by the great voices of the past to personal versions tailored to his beautiful instrumental voice. The program includes pieces that pay homage to the world-famous composer Burt Bacharach, to whom Karima is linked by an artistic association.
Burt Bacharach – recently passed away – is to be considered one of the greatest “pop” composers ever, a real head of the music star and stripes as the ability to create melodies. Bacharach’s songs have been performed by giants such as Beatles, Neil Diamond, Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones, Aretha Franklin. Bacharach has won six Oscars and several Grammys, including one for his career.
