A select member of the jazz piano pantheon, Fred Hersch is an influential creative force that has shaped the course of music for over three decades as an improviser, composer, educator, bandleader, collaborator and recording artist. Fifteen-time Grammy nominee, Hersch has regularly won the most prestigious jazz awards, including recent awards such as Doris Duke Artist 2016, Jazz pianist of the year 2016 and 2018 from the Jazz Journalists Association and the Prix Honorem de Jazz 2017 from L’Acádemie Charles Cros for the entirety of his career. He recently placed #2 Jazz Musician of the Year in the 2021 downbeat Critics Poll and was named #3 Jazz Pianist. He was also awarded as International Jazz Artist of the Year 2021 by Jazz Magazine (France).
