Having distinguished himself at the Vienna Beethoven competition in 2013 and the XVI International Gina Bachauer Piano Competition in 2014, Andrey Gugnin began to appear on some of the most important stages around the world. But it was his victory at the International Piano Competition of Australia in 2016, where he also received several special awards, that really launched his career. Soon after, he was invited to perform with Valery Gergiev and the London Philharmonic Orchestra, he established a contract with the Hyperion record label and the support of the Young Classical Artists Trust, and he saw collaborations open up with orchestras across four continents, and calls to perform at the most prestigious international festivals.
