His exceptionally vast repertory, his profound music culture, his exceptional mastery of the keyboard are the elements which have allowed François-Joël Thiollier to tread the boards of the world’s most prestigious stages, putting himself in the spotlight thanks to his unique personality. He has been acclaimed in more than 40 Countries, where he has performed with the most renowned orchestras, from the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, to the Orchestra della Rai of Turin, from the Orchestre National de France to the London Symphony Orchestra and at the world’s greatest concert halls: Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Berliner Philharmonie, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Sydney Opera House. French-American by birth, Thiollier has imbibed the best of different cultures, studying in France under Robert Casadesus and graduating at the young age of 18 under Sascha Gorodnitzki at the Juilliard School of Music in New York. Thiollier has won eight Grand Prix at International Competitions – an unprecedented achievement –, among which the “Reine Elisabeth” in Brussels and the “Čajkovskij” in Moscow.
