Trio Gaon was formed in 2013, with the idea of bringing together musicians with very different cultural and professional backgrounds who share a common musical vision. The word Gaon, which in Korean (가 온) means both “centre of the world” and “generating warmth”, is a metaphor for the musicians’ aspiration to make the musical work the “centre of the world” at each concert, generating warmth and energy.
The members of the Trio, who graduated from the Munich Academy of Music and Performing Arts and continued to perfect their skills together, each hold important soloist and educational roles. They have been recognised by some of the most important international chamber music competitions.
