Derek Wang defines himself as a pianist and communicator always listening attentively to musical and social issues. He is also active in multimedia productions and author of soundtracks for short films, recently launched the podcast series American Stories with violinist Sophia Stoyanovich, where the music reflects the American news, stories of real characters.
In Sacile, famous transcriptions by Liszt, the Lieder of Schubert, the Sonata op. 111 by Beethoven and Schumann’s magnificent Fantasia will be the testbed of this extroverted pianist graduated from the Juilliard School in New York, where he also studied harpsichord and fortepiano.
